| Resumen : | Numbers 37, 38 and 39 of the UM International Thesaurus are my memories dedicated to two exceptional personalities, Michael E. DeBakey and Denton A. Cooley, and are a reflection of an unforgettable decade of my life in which I had the privilege of working with them. In truth, Michael E. DeBakey and Denton A. Cooley, two giants of cardiovascular surgery, promoted change in the 20th century and, without a doubt, both had their wonderful legend. The first in medical history, replacement of the total heart with an Artificial Heart (in orthotopic position) in the patient Mr. H. Karp, at the Texas Heart Institute, Houston (April 4, 1969). Dr. M. DeBakey visited Argentina in May 1996. |
